Oculus Rift: PC requirements finally known

Oculus is preparing for the launch of their virtual reality glasses for the beginning of next year and now revealed the requirements needed for the PC. For the full experience, Oculus recommends the use of computers with the following characteristics:

  • Processor: Intel i5-4590
  • Graphics Card: NVIDIA GTX 970 or AMD 290
  • Memory: 8GB RAM
  • Entries: Three USB 3.0 / 1.3 HDMI video input 297MHz
  • OS: Windows 7 or higher

The company informs that the high specs are needed to meet the peripheral’s full potential and its graphical requirements. A game of virtual reality presents a large number of pixels per second to achieve 60fps without any problems.
Oculus Rift does not yet have a price limit and is scheduled to reach the PC at the beginning of 2016. Regarding the versions for OS X and Linux, Oculus announced that the development was interrupted.
